On 6 February, a catastrophic series of earthquakes has struck the border between southern Turkey and Syria, near the city of city of Gaziantep. As of 9th of February, more than 20.000 causalities and more than 70.000 injuries have been reported. Rescue and relief actions are currently underway.
Chemists from the European Chemical Society express solidarity with Turkish colleagues and their families, and sends their sincere condolences to all who were affected by this disaster. EuChemS also welcomes global cooperation in relief actions, and urges all who can, within the Chemistry Community and beyond, to help in any way they are able to.
