On 23 June, All European Academies (ALLEA) released “The European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity – Revised Edition 2023”. As a stakeholder of AALLEA, EuChemS was invited to contribute to this document. The ALLEA Code of Conduct is recognised by the European Union, and relied on when decisions are made related to EU Funding.
The 2023 edition follows the previous code, released in 2017, and it reflects on emerging challenges to research integrity. It’s draft was prepared by ALLEA’s Permanent Working Group on Science and Ethics. Following its production, the draft was circulated amongst more than 30 stakeholders , including EuChemS. EuChemS was invited to provide comments on the document’s capacity of reflecting key developments, clarity, and key resources. It was invited due to its “work and interest in promoting research integrity”.
