2024 General Assembly Meetings

The 2024 EuChemS General Assembly (GA) took place in Berlin, Germany, from 23 to 25 October, as part of the annual EuChemS meetings, hosted by the German Chemical Society and Wiley.

The Business Session of the General Assembly, open to EuChemS Members with voting rights, was held on Thursday afternoon, 24 October. This closed session, chaired by EuChemS President Angela Agostiano, allowed representatives to address key EuChemS matters, vote on new proposals, and discuss ongoing and future initiatives. During the session, membership applications and proposals for two new Member Societies were presented and voted on, marking an important moment for the organization’s growth and collaborative reach. On this occasion, three new members were elected to join the EuChemS Executive Board. In addition to Tom Kinzel and Renata Orinakova, Jeroen Cornelissen was elected.

The following day, on Friday morning, the General Assembly’s Open Session brought together EuChemS Member Societies, Supporting Members, Executive Board Members, and Board Members of the Professional Networks to review EuChemS’ activities and achievements over the past year.

2024 Professiona Networks meetings

The 2024 EuChemS Annual Meetings concluded with the Professional Networks meeting on Friday afternoon, where representatives from Divisions, Working Parties, and EYCN discussed their latest initiatives and strategic collaborations. The meeting focused on strengthening ties within and beyond the chemistry community, particularly through upcoming scientific events and cross-network partnerships.

EuChemS expresses sincere gratitude to all representatives, Members, Professional Networks, and guests for their engagement and collaboration during the 2024 General Assembly and Professional Networks meeting. The success of these events reflects the dedication of the EuChemS community, guided by the efforts of the EuChemS Secretariat led by Secretary General Nineta Hrastelj, and with invaluable support from the German Chemical Society and Wiley.
