Public Consultation on Energy Efficiency
EuChemS responded to a public consultation on energy efficiency. On February 2014, the European Commission launched a public consultation on “progress towards the 2020 energy efficiency objective and a 2030 energy efficiency policy framework”. The aim of this public consultation was to seek the opinions of all stakeholders on the issues related to energy efficiency policies and measures for 2020 and 2030. Particularly, the replies submitted to this consultation will provide an important input to the review of progress towards the 2020 energy efficiency target under Article 3(2) of the Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU. They will also be taken into consideration for the follow-up of the Communication “A policy framework for climate and energy in the period from 2020 to 2030” to establish the exact ambition of future energy savings policy and the measures necessary to deliver it.
