Division of Glycoscience Mini Symposia at 9th EuChemS Congress Dublin

The European Chemical Society – Division of Glycoscience officially launched in January ‘24. To mark the launch, a series of four mini symposia on Glycoscience will run during the 9th EuChemS Congress, July 7th-11th 2024.  The symposia will be held in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry –  Carbohydrate Interest Group.

Establishment of the EuChemS Division of Glycoscience

In 2023, the European Glycoscience Community (EGC) led a petition to EuChemS to establish a Division of Glycoscience. The petition was signed by many leaders in the field and members of the EGC were invited to the EuChemS General Assembly in Cyprus to pitch the Division of Glycoscience to the EuChemS Council. The Division was approved with resounding support and officially launched in January 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for the Glycoscience field and will allow for coordination of activities and lobbying for Glycoscience at a European level. The EuChemS Division of Glycoscience has opened the application process to establish the committee in February. Committee delegate applications can be submitted through the EuChemS webpage https://www.euchems.eu/nomination-to-a-euchems-professional-network/. The Division of Glycoscience would like to see applications from delegates who are involved in carbohydrate organisations at a national and European level and strongly encourage applications at all career stages. The Division will also be looking to secure long term sponsorship to support its activities, if your company is interested in discussing sponsorship opportunities please contact .
