EuChemS attends high-level RSC events
Aug 8, 2024
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) organised its President’s lunch and Reception, as well as it’s Summer Party on 25 July, at the Burlington House in London.
On the invite of RSC President Annette Doherty and Chief Executive Helen Pain, EuChemS Secretary General Nineta Hrastelj attended the RSC’s President Lunch, meeting with representatives of chemistry all across the globe.
Following the lunch, the RSC’s President held a reception, where the 2024 Honorary Fellows at the Royal Society of Chemistry were announced. EuChemS Past-President David-Cole Hamilton was amongst them, as well as Javier Garcia-Martinez, former President of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. The full list of Honorary RSC Fellows can be accessed here. In 2020, this honour was also received by another former EuChemS President, Pilar Goya, who was present at this year’s event as well.
The reception was followed by the RSC’s annual summer party. At the party, an international group of chemists gathered to celebrate the chemistry community, and the achievements of the discipline, many of them affiliated with EuChemS.
