Women in Science - Eurostat figures

  women-in-science

On the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8 March, EuCheMS has looked back on figures shared by Eurostat on the current distribution of female scientists and engineers across the EU. The conclusion? From the 17 million scientists and engineers in Europe, 40% are women and 60% men. But whilst women hold a majority of jobs in science and technology in service activities, they only account for less than 30% in manufacturing. Take a closer look at facts and figures here.
