After a hiatus of 8 years, 25-28 September 2024 marked the return of the Panhellenic Chemistry Conference, which held its 23rd edition. Hosted by the University of Athens, this conference coincided with the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Greek Association of Chemists. The association’s President, and former member of the EuChemS Executive Board Ioannis Katsoyannis was co-organising the event.
The theme was “Chemistry for a better world”. A wide range of scientists and policymakers as well as other guests were present amongst the attendees. EuChemS President Angela Agostiano was invited as a speaker for the session “Exploring Soft Chemistry Routes for Functional Nanostructures:Unlocking Novel Potentials for Energy, Environmental and Biomedical Application”. She also had the opportunity to welcome all attendees on behalf of EuChemS, of which the century-old Greek Association of Chemists is a member of.
